 Having joined the team at Ian Dempsey’s Breakfast Show on Today FM ten years ago, Mario Rosenstock’s Gift Grub continues to attract tens of thousands of listeners from across Ireland every week-day morning. Leaving no stone unturned to get his characters, even using a chicken tikka sandwich to do Brian Cowen, his success is not only due to his incredible mimic skills, but also to his astute ability to react with razor sharp satire to breaking news stories and current affairs. With Gift Grub, Rosenstock turns the spotlight on the stories and characters of the day, posing the questions so often left unasked by even the toughest journalists and newscasters. Rosenstock’s characters give voice to the nations thoughts and no public figures are exempt from Rosenstock’s searing satirical masterpieces! The talent to write such skilled parody on a daily basis is hugely rare. To do so successfully for more than ten years is truly an astounding achievement in itself. So popular was Mario's portrayal of José Mourinho singing 'José And His Amazing Technicolor® Overcoat' that 'The Special One' invited Mario to perform a private show for the entire Chelsea squad! The song was subsequently released, with Mourinho's blessing, as a hit single. Similarly in December 2005, a parody of Will Young's song 'Leave Right Now' relating to the events surrounding Roy Keane's dismissal from Manchester United was released as a charity single and went straight in at the number one position on the Irish Christmas charts. Of Gift Grub – Live, Mario says: ‘"We have been talking about this for as long as Gift has been on the radio-so that’s ten years! We're going to stuff it with as many characters and as many laughs as possible. I can't wait! I'm planking it, but I can't wait!" Mario received critical acclaim for his portrayal of Roy Keane in the award winning stage production ‘I Keano’ in 2002 and he is also fondly remembered as the dashing young doctor in Glenroe!
