| JOOLS HOLLAND AND HIS RHYTHM AND BLUES ORCHESTRA |
![]() Jools Holland, OBE was born Julian Miles Holland on January 24, 1958 in Blackheath, South East London. A composer, pianist, bandleader and broadcaster, he is a man of many talents. At the age of eight, he could play the piano fluently by ear, and by the time he reached his early teens he was proficient and confident enough to be appearing regularly in many of the pubs in South East London and the East End Docks.
Later...with Jools Holland has re-awakened the innovative spirit of The Tube, and has just completed its 35th series, which culminated in the 17th yearly ultimate knees-up, the Hootenanny featuring Paolo Nutini, Florence & The Machine, Paloma Faith & Boy George amongst many other great artists and with a special guest appearance by a polar bear! 2009 also saw the collaboration between Jools & his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra with Eddi Reader on tracks for (and a cameo role in!) the movie, Me & Orson Welles, starring Claire Danes (Romeo & Juliet) and Zac Efron (High School Musical). It is directed by Richard Linklater (School of Rock, Dazed & Confused) and opened in the UK on Monday 4th December to amazing reviews. The Soundtrack is available via Decca/Universal Records, and it includes three songs by Jools and the Orchestra with Eddi Reader: Let's Pretend There's A Moon, I Surrender Dear, and You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want To Do It). All the while, Jools continues to dazzle audiences with the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and their live performances and is planning to spend most of 2010 touring all over the world, including Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Argentina, Holland, and all across the UK. They will be joined on the UK & Irish dates for the very first time by one of Britain’s most enduring and acclaimed vocalists, performers and songwriters, Alison Moyet. Jools will be joined by Special Guests on the night so don’t miss this opportunity to see the Legend Jools Holland on Stage at The Royal Theatre Castlebar on 21st October. Tickets on Sale Now.
